I owe much of my development as a musician (and a man) to my best friend and cousin Clayton Colwell. Without a doubt, he is the rock to my roll. Since kids, together we have written and recorded scores of songs and traveled the world in various bands. Our adventure continues as Colwell. Curious how we got the name? Click here to find out.
Hector On Stilts
Before we were Colwell (we've always been Colwells) we were Hector On Stilts, a pop band with a rotating roster of musicians. Listen to the HOS album Same Height Relation here.
The Joshua Show
In August 2015 I joined as musical accompanist for The Joshua Show, an award-winning international-touring puppet show.(photo credit Jeremy Miller)
In October of 2014 I visited Cuba on a humanitarian mission, a privilege made possible by my involvement in the writing and singing of a song for Viva La Gente. Visit my Soundcloud page to hear "Cuba en mi corazon."
My home studio. My tools. My woodshed. This is the place where my ideas flow. Check out my personal Soundcloud page where I share the nuts and bolts.
A lot of my live performing in the past couple of years with Colwell has been in sketch comedy. The group Cockadoodle Don't ("female dominated, free range comedy, without all the antibiotics & growth hormones") has recruited us to emcee their shows and play carefully selected songs throughout based on the jokes. So basically you get to laugh with us, then laugh AT us as we play one or two of our own songs.
